Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) Terphenyl Ligand
A linear ligand linker for MOFs in applications of detection of Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions and trinitrophenol (TNP) in water systems
Specifications | MSDS | Literature and Reviews
The organic linker 2'-amino-1,1':4,1''-terphenyl-4,4''-dicarboxylic acid (H2tpdc-NH2), CAS number 1312703-28-8, contains an electron-accepting carboxylic acid at both end of the linear structure and an electron-donating amino groups in the centre of the benzene ring.
2D porous MOF Tb-DBA, consisted of Tb3+ cluster nodes and H2tpdc-NH2 linear ligand linkers by a solvothermal method, could detect Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions sensitively, selectively and reversibly. The detection limit is as low as the nM level. Tb-DBA displayed fluorescence enhancement in the presence of Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions. Significantly, Al3+, Cr3+ and Fe3+ ions could be visually detected under UV light.
Chemically stable porous metal organic framework UiO-68@NH2 can detect the presence of trinitrophenol (TNP) in water system at a concentration as low as 0.4 ppm with a response time of a few seconds. Both excitation and emission wavelengths of the MOF are in the visible region with a quenching constant for TNP being found to be 5.8 × 104 M−1.
