To grow our Leiden team, we are looking for someone who is eager to develop their customer service skills and gain business development experience in a high-tech company.
About the Role
At Ossila, our engineers and scientists design and build new, innovative pieces of scientific equipment. We manufacture a wide range of our own brand laboratory devices and specialist materials from our parent site in Sheffield, UK.
To ensure frictionless trade with our European customers, in 2021 we expanded our operations to include a customer service and distribution site in Leiden, Netherlands. We are now looking for a talented, confident and independent individual to help grow our European operations by becoming the second member of our team here.
Our European customer care team is supported by an expert technical team, so scientific knowledge relating to our products is not required. As a key part of our international customer care team, you will:
- Aid European order fulfilment on behalf of Ossila BV. Packages are received and processed daily at our Leiden office.
- Take responsibility for preparing client orders for international transit.
- Act as the main point of contact for our European customer base.
- Assist the Head of Station in providing client quotations, processing orders, and helping with general enquiries, predominantly via email.
- Help prepare shipping documentation, monitoring the delivery of client orders, and keeping our data system up to date.
- Manage stock control to ensure client orders can be fulfilled correctly.
- Independently run order fulfilment when required to ensure that our customers receive the best possible service from our European operations.
- Gain/develop your experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Ossila BV is pleasantly situated in the dynamic Leiden BioScience Park which provides frequent opportunities for our small team to interact and network with other tenants. Colleagues from the UK also visit the office regularly and offer constant remote support for any day-to-day issues that may arise. This is a full-time position with requirement to be on site (not suited to remote working).
About You
- You have the right to work in the Netherlands.
- You have excellent written and spoken English skills (fluent).
- Your experience in a customer-facing or office role demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills to deliver great customer service.
- You are organised with a methodical and diligent work ethic.
- You work with a high attention to detail to achieve successful outcomes.
- You can demonstrate good Excel and general IT skills.
- You are confident working independently (although you will be well supported remotely and within a multi-tenant building)
- You are keen to continue your personal learning and development.
Your skills and experience may also include:
- Fluency in other European languages
- Experience using CRMs and inventory systems
