* The maximum speed can exceed the value stated above dependent upon solution viscosity, syringe diameter, tube/needle diameter, and tube/needle length.
** The Ossila Dual Syringe Pump has a stepping accuracy of 0.16%, giving a rate accuracy of 19 nm.s-1. This value may vary as the actual flow rate accuracy from a syringe pump depends on the accuracy of the driver and the syringe diameter. Different syringes have different manufacturing tolerances. The diameter of plastic disposable syringes can vary by up to 3%, resulting in an error in dispense rate of up to 6%. Glass and stainless steel syringes have a higher tolerance, with a maximum of 0.5% variation in the internal diameter and volume error of up to 1%.

Maximum and Minimum Flow Rate
Max and min flow rate of the syringe pump depends on the stepping rate of the motor and syringe diameter. Below are some maximum and minimum flow rates for some common syringe sizes. By choosing the correct syringe diameter, it is possible to achieve a range of dispense rates spanning 8 orders of magnitude.
Syringe Volume | Syringe Diameter | Minimum Flow Rate | Maximum Flow Rate |
---|---|---|---|
0.5 µl | 0.103 mm | 0.6 pl.s-1 (2.1 nl.hr-1) | 41 nl.s-1 (0.15 ml.hr-1) |

Dual Syringe Pump Features
Dual Channels, Versatile Applications
Each channel can be controlled independently with different dispense rates and independent motors. Syringes can withdraw and infuse simultaneously, or blend two different solutions in precise ratios. Conduct more complex processes with ease including continuous syringe pumping, emulsification processes, solution mixing, polymerisation or sequential layer deposition.
USB Connectivity, Fully Programmable
The Dual Syringe pump can be easily controlled by external systems. By connecting the system to a computer, you can programme dispensing recipes using simple serial commands. This allows easy and repeatable automation of long processes, such as setting up continuous flow experiments or sequential layer depositions.
Precision Motion, Precise Control
Achieve seamless motion in both syringe pumps and deliver ultra-low volumes of solutions needed for microfluidic experiments, utilizing the high quality stepper motors and driver technology capable of more than 25,600 steps per revolution.
Compatible with Many Syringe Sizes
Our syringe pumps are compatible with a wide range of syringes from 0.5 μl to 60 ml. We recommend solvent-resistant Norm-Ject Disposable Luer Lock Syringes, which are perfect for solution infusion and solution dispensing, including acids and chlorinated solvents.
High Maximum Available Force
The Ossila Dual Syringe Pump design can achieve the same maximum force in infusion and withdrawal modes (500 N). This improved design allows for a wider range of solution viscosities and higher levels of back pressure. This improves pumping through systems with long tubing or small diameters
