Sample volume

With their small volume capacities starting from 0.35 ml, our range of cuvettes is perfect for researchers who have limited quantities of samples or solutions. These cuvettes enable you to use the minimum amount of solution, therefore you can conduct more experiments than you would normally be able to.

Standard cuvettes – front view
500 μl of solution in 1 mm path length cuvette (left) and 10ml path length cuvette (right).
Standard cuvettes – side on view
Side on view – 500μl of solution in 1mm path length cuvette (left) and 10ml path length cuvette (right)

Path length

For solutions with absorption coefficients that are too high for a standard path length cuvette, we have cuvettes with path lengths as short as 1 mm. You can achieve a ten-times reduction in absorbance by simply swapping cuvettes, rather than wasting time and solvent by needing to dilute your solutions.

Transmission range

Our UV Quartz cuvettes (which have high transmission between 200 nm and 2500 nm) are perfect for working within the UV-Visible spectrum. Our IR quartz cuvettes (which have high transmission between 260 nm and 3600 nm) offer excellent transmittance across the near-IR, short-IR, and mid-IR spectra.

Quartz Cuvettes Features

UV Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Made from JGS1 UV-grade fused silica, absorption onset occurs below 170 nm and there are no absorption bands situated between 170 nm and 250 nm. Exceptionally high transmittance across the UVB, UVA, visible spectrum, and near IR. The transmission spectra for our UV quartz cells can be seen below. When working in the IR spectra, especially for wavelengths greater than 2000 nm, we recommend IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes instead, as they offer high transmission for these wavelengths.

JGS1 UV Quartz Transmission Spectra
Transmission through UV quartz glass between 150 nm and 4500 nm

IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Made from JGS3 UV-grade fused silica, absorption onset occurs below 170 nm with exceptionally high transmission across UVB, UVA, visible, near IR, and notibly short IR. Transmission drops significantly in the mid IR, and at 4200 nm there is complete absorption.

JGS3 IR Quartz Transmission Spectra
Transmission through IR quartz glass between 150 nm and 4500 nm
