Ossila at MATSUS25: Exploring Sustainable Materials
This month, we had the fantastic opportunity to attend the Materials for Sustainable Development Conference 2025 (MATSUS25) in Sevilla! Bringing together researchers from across Europe, the conference covered a broad range of topics, from next-generation battery technology to perovskite and organic photovoltaics (OPVs) to MXenes.
One of the key themes that stood out this year was green processing and the push for more sustainable materials. As cutting-edge electronics continue to evolve, it’s clear that many factors are just as critical as efficiency and stability, including:
Thorough and considered life cycle analysis
Increasing material recovery and limiting the use of scare materials
A move towards low-toxicity synthesis and green processing

Inspired by these discussions, we’re launching a special promotion on selected organic materials that can be processed with greener solvents over the next three months!
Alongside some brilliant discussions, we had the chance to attend some fascinating sessions, including Understanding the Success of OSCs and Sustainable Energy Materials and Circularity.
We were also excited to learn more about how solar simulators can be integrated with electrochemical cells for photocatalysis measurements, opening up new possibilities for research.
As always, it was fantastic to meet so many researchers and discuss how our products can support their work. Our glove box drew a lot of interest, exploring whether it could enhance their experiments.
A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to chat with us—we had a brilliant time sharing ideas, gaining valuable insights, and learning from the vibrant community at MATSUS25.
