Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) Tripyridylbenzene Ligand

Trigonal ligand linker for covalent organic frameworks (COFs) in application of palladium recovery, carbon dioxide adsorption and photocatalyst

Specifications | MSDS | Literature and Reviews

5,5'',5''''-(Benzene-1,3,5-triyl)tripicolinaldehyde (BTPA) has three 5-pyridylaldehyde groups joined on a central benzene ring at meta-positions. The nitrogen rich electron deficient monomer has been engaged in the construction of covalent organic frameworks (COFs).

Antiparallel stacked covalent organic framework, BHTH-BTPA-ACOF, constructed by the condensation of 2,5-bis(3-hydroxypropoxy)terephthalohydrazide and 5,5′,5″-(benzene-1,3,5-triyl)tripicolinaldehyde, has both pyridine and hydrazine-carbonyl traps with high Pd(II) binding affinity, enabling the capture of Pd (II) ions under various conditions. BHTH-BTPA-ACOF shows a fast kinetics, excellent selectivity, and a high adsorption capacity of 412.9 ± 14.2 mg g-1 for Pd (II) in a 3M nitric acid solution.
