(S)-(+)-3-Fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride (CAS number 136725-53-6) is a pyrrolidinium chloride salt with a fluorine substituent on the S-chiral carbon (3-position). The secondary amine in (S)-(+)-3-fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride enables it to be used as a ligand for metal complexes. A cadmium-(S)-(+)-3-fluoropyrrolidine perovskite ferroelectric has Curie temperature (Tc) at 303 K, which is 63 K higher than those of non-substituted cadmium-pyrrolidine complexes. (S)-(+)-3-Fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride extends the working temperature of ferroelectrics to room temperature.
(S)-(+)-3-Fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride can be easily attached to molecular scaffolds through nucleophilic substitution. It is, therefore, used in preparing analogues of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). An (S)-(+)-3-fluoropyrrolidine hydrochloride modified pyrazolopyridazine inhibitor of tyrosine regulated kinase showed pIC50 (negative log of half maximal inhibitory concentration) of 6.73.
