Air Knife For Slot Die Coaters
The Ossila slot die coater provides you with high precision thin film coatings and our miniature adjustable air knife gives you the ability to control the drying of your films. Additionally with our adjustable bracket for mounting the air knife you can adjust the distance from your film and the angle of attack of the air curtain giving you further ways to optimise your drying conditions.
The design of the air knife utilises the Coandă effect, air exiting the slit made between the two parts of the knife remains attached to the convex curved surface. This flow of air results in a pressure drop which entrains additional air into the flow. This results in a multiplier effect where the air flow within the air curtain is higher than that coming out of the slit.
The air knife is usable for both our 50mm and 100mm heads, the air knife comes with an 4mm push fit adapter for you to quickly connect your air knife to either a compressed air line or pressurised gas such as nitrogen for inert gas quenching.

Our air knife is only compatible with our counter bore slot-die heads, please ensure that the clamping screws for the head you have are counterbored before ordering the air knife.
