2,4,6-Tris(4-hydrazinylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine (CAS number 804548-56-9) is a ligand for covalent organic frameworks (COFs), featuring a triazine core and three hydrazinophenyl groups. With three reaction sides, 2,4,6-tris(4-hydrazinylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine can form highly cross-linked COFs with ketone/aldehyde derivatives. The resulting COFs have hydrazone linkages, exhibiting a coplanar structure. These COFs have relatively weak interlayer interactions, which allows them to be exfoliated into 2D polymer sheets.
2,4,6-Tris(4-hydrazinylphenyl)-1,3,5-triazine reacts with 4,4',4''-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyl)tribenzaldehyde, yielding a COF with pore volume of 0.434 cm3/g and surface area of 458 m2/g. The resulting COF shows high absorption ability for methyl orange due to the hydrogen bonding interaction between the hydrazone linker and the azo groups of methyl orange.
