Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) Phenanthroline Ligand

V shaped ligand linker for covalent organic frameworks (COFs) in application of carbon monoxide evolution, detection of cancer and biosensors

Specifications | MSDS | Literature and Reviews

2,9-Bis[p-(formyl)phenyl]-1,10-phenanthroline (BTPP) contains a 1,10-phenanthroline with two 4-formylphenyl side arms at 2,9-positions. With both aldehyde and nitrogen function groups, BTPP is a template to form both COF and MOF.

Cobalt coordinated one-dimensional (1D) pyrene-based covalent organic frameworks (PyTTA-COF), obtained from the Schiff-base condensation reaction between 4,4',4",4''-(pyrene-1,3,6,8-tetrayl)-tetraaniline and 2,9-bis[p-(formy)phenyl]-1,10-phenanthroline, demonstrates significantly enhanced CO2 photoreduction activity under visible-light with a remarkable CO evolution yield of 1003 μmol g−1 over an 8-hour period.

Electrochemical sensor CuTAPc-MCOF@AgNPs, a copper phthalocyanine-based covalent-organic framework (CuTAPc-MCOF) doped with silver nanoparticles where CuTAPc-MCOF was condensed from Cu(II) 4′,4′′,4′′′,4′′′′-tetra-amine phthalocyanine (CuTAPc) and 2,9-bis[p-(formyl)phenyl]-1,10-phenanthroline building blocks, showed a high sensitivity of 29.1 μA μM−1 cm−2 and a low detection limit of 12.6 nM within the concentration range of 0.18 μM to 17.1 μM toward nitrous oxide (also known as laughing gas) released from living cancer cells.

CoPc-PT-COF@Cu-MOF, a 2D phthalocyanine and 1,10-phenanthroline based COF (CoPc-PT-COF) in situ grown on a Cu-based MOF (Cu-MOF) substrate via covalent binding between carboxyl groups in Cu-MOF and amino groups in CoPc-PT-COF, shows specific recognition between DNA strands and Cr3+ ions. The CoPc-PT-COF@Cu-MOF-based biosensor thus can be used to determine Cr3+ ions in an aqueous environment by a photoelectrochemical (PEC)–electrochemical (EC) dual-mode.
