Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) Carbazolyl Ligand

An ethynyl functionalised bridging ligand linker for COFs in application of photocatalysts for organic synthesis and fluorescent detection of nitroexplosives

Specifications | MSDS | Literature and Reviews

1,3,6,8-Tetraethynyl-9H-carbazole (TECz), CAS number 2415951-75-4, has a carbazole core with four ethynyl side arms on 1,3,6,8-positions of carbazole ring. 1,3,6,8-Tetraethynyl-9H-carbazole as a fluorescent probe, is mainly engaged in the synthesis of covalent organic frameworks (COFs) or conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs).

By incorporating ferrocene into 1,3,6,8-tetraethynyl-9H-carbazole building block to promote electron and hole separation and thus accelerate generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), conjugated microporous polymer, Fc-CBZ-CMP, can sufficiently generate reactive oxygen species (ROS) under visible light. Visible light generated ROS can effectively oxidise thus decompose the pollutants, including organic dyes and chemical warfare agents. Fc-CBZ-CMP significantly outperforms commercially available TiO2 (P25) in the degradation of methylene blue and are capable of converting 2-chloroethyl ethyl sulfide into a completely nontoxic product.

1,3,6,8-tetraethynyl-9-hexyl-9H-carbazole, derivative of 1,3,6,8-tetraethynyl-9H-carbazole, has also been used for fluorescent detection of nitroexplosives, showing great quenching of fluorescence in the presence of nitroexplosive molecules.
